VOICES CARRY is the autobiography of beloved Chinese actor and cultural ambassador Ying Ruocheng, published by Rowman & Littlefield (2009). Claire Conceison collaborated with Ying during the final three years of his life (2001-2003), taping his life story and compiling it into a lively and readable narrative for an international audience. Ying’s life shows us the impact of twentieth-century China’s social and political upheavals on the life of a remarkable man from an extraordinary family.
